Among these advances are new approaches and techniques in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, resulting in less discomfort, quicker recovery times and better outcomes compared to traditional “open” surgery for a variety of urologic conditions. Jim C. Hu, MD, MPH, professor and Henry E. Singleton Chair in Urology, is the Director of robotic and minimally invasive urology and co-director of the UCLA Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology (CASIT).
UCLA Urology offers the full range of surgical options for patients, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures, advanced robot-assisted surgery, and traditional open surgeries. Keeping in mind that each patient needs individualized treatment, our fellowship-trained urologists will recommend the least invasive and most effective method to treat your condition.
